Barcelona star João Cancelo has taken to social media on Thursday, to launch a defence of his most recent performance.
Defender Cancelo was for his part in from the off on Tuesday night, as Barcelona made the trip to Paris for a Champions League showdown with Luis Enrique’s PSG.
En route to a first defeat of the season for the visitors, however, the Portuguese was singled out for heavy criticism. Much of the condemnation came courtesy of those of a Blaugrana persuasion, frustrated with Cancelo’s shortcomings on the defensive side of the ball.
As alluded to above, though, the former Manchester City man is evidently not ready to take such backlash without defending his name.
Taking to his official Instagram account on Thursday, Cancelo hit back at his critics, writing:
‘From the stands, everyone’s an expert. I want to see them step into the game and handle the pressure.’
