Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé has on Thursday seen his most recent exploits in European competition recognised. This comes courtesy of a place in the official UEFA Champions League Team of the Week.
Frontman Mbappé is for his part fresh off another altogether productive outing on Wednesday night.
Afforded a starting berth in Real Madrid’s Champions League meeting with German outfit RB Leipzig, the 27-year-old first laid on an assist for Arda Güler early in the 2nd-half.
En route to an eventual 4-1 Blancos triumph, Mbappé then turned goalscorer late on, directing a wonderful right-footed strike into the far top corner from the edge of the Leipzig penalty area.
And as alluded to above, a day on, such efforts have been aptly rewarded.
Real Madrid’s top scorer has been included in the Champions League Team of the Week for Gameweek 3, joined by the likes of Harry Kane, Phil Foden and ex-Blancos talent Nico Paz:
