Yaya Touré: “I would love to work at La Masia.”

Speaking in an interview with Cadena SER, former Barcelona midfielder Yaya Touré revealed that he hopes to coach at FC Barcelona one day.

“I am finishing my coaching license. Barcelona for me is the team where I want to end up. I don’t know if in Barça B, in the academy… but I want to work at Barcelona. I would love to work at La Masia, I still have a home in Barcelona.

“I know that in Barcelona they love me a lot. It was a very difficult decision for me to leave. I had everything there: football, life, climate… I had the best by my side, Xavi, Iniesta… that’s why I always want to end up in Barcelona. I watch TV in Catalan, TV3,” said the former Man City player, who is confident that Messi will remain at Barça next season despite the uncertainty over his future.

“I hope Messi stays at Barça. When I’m asked what he’s like, I say he’s a normal guy, he doesn’t talk much, but he’s a very loving person. I don’t see him outside of Barcelona. To see Messi in another team would be strange.”
