Xavi’s brother Oscar keeps alive perfect Barcelona record with win over Las Palmas

Barcelona’s latest victory on Saturday saw the brother of head coach Xavi keep alive an impressive record on the touchline.

Barca, of course, were back in action a short time ago, welcoming Las Palmas to Catalunya’s capital for their first outing on the back of the international break.

And, when all was said and done, the evening’s hosts got the job done, closing the gap on table-topping Real Madrid to five points in the process.

As much came owing to a solitary strike on the part of wide-man Raphinha.

As alluded to above, though, the Blaugrana’s latest triumph did not only prove significant from a collective standpoint, in keeping alive the club’s feint hopes of La Liga glory.

In addition, it maintained a head-turning individual record.

With head coach Xavi suspended on Saturday, the Spaniard’s brother and assistant, Oscar Hernández, took his place on the touchline at Montjuïc.

And, in overseeing an eventual victory, he maintained his perfect record when taking charge of Barcelona, now standing at six wins from six.
