Barcelona captain Sergi Roberto tonight forwarded something of a message to Athletic Club’s stars, ahead of their impending showdown with Real Madrid.
Barca, of course, are fresh off a winning return to action, on the back of the international break.
After welcoming Las Palmas to Catalunya’s capital, a solitary 2nd-half strike on the part of Raphinha proved enough to give rise to an eventual 1-0 result.
A fifth win in their last six, Xavi’s troops, in turn, have closed the gap on La Liga leaders Real Madrid, for the time being, to just five points.
Speaking to the media post-match on Saturday, the aforementioned Sergi Roberto therefore made use of the opportunity to send a message of motivation to his side’s arch rivals’ upcoming opponents.
Real are primed to play host to Athletic Club on Sunday night.
And Roberto is hopeful that the Basque outfit can spring a surprise, urging Ernesto Valverde’s side to ‘make things difficult’ for their hosts:
“We hope that Athletic Club will make things difficult for Real Madrid tomorrow.”
