After winning his first La Liga title at Barcelona this season, Xavi has penned an open letter to Barça fans, in which he thanks them and looks to the future.
“It is time to dedicate a few words to you. I want to thank you for the warmth and support you have given us throughout the season. Camp Nou always looked great and we felt very comfortable playing in the stadium. We felt your passion and love for the badge. Also, in the hardest moments, when you did not leave us alone. On the contrary, you helped us get up and grow as a team.
“You have been, are and will continue to be a fundamental pillar of Barça. You are Barça. Now is the time to celebrate. This title is the culmination of the work and effort of many people for a long time. We all rowed in the same direction. We won La Liga because we were the best team in the competition. A big effort was made and now we have to value it and enjoy it. Let’s celebrate this title as it deserves to be celebrated, but without stopping working.
“We are already thinking about the future, about continuing to build this exciting project because this is Barça and we always want more. Long live Barça and long live Catalunya.”
Xavi will be hoping his team can take their form into the 2023-24 season.
