Xavi rejects offers from Borussia Dortmund and Brazil national team

Borussia Dortmund and the Brazilian football federation both contacted Xavi Hernández about coaching roles before the former Barcelona player penned a new deal with Al Sadd, according to AS.

Xavi, who is now a candidate for the managerial post at Barcelona, recently renewed his current deal with the Qatari outfit until June 2023.

The Brazilian Football Federation reportedly contacted the coach to offer him the possibility of working alongside head coach Tite until the World Cup in 2022, before taking over after the World Cup. The offer from Dortmund was a 3-year deal. Xavi decided to turn down both opportunities and remains the favourite to take over from Ronald Koeman at Camp Nou ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
