Xabi Alonso & De Zerbi among options as updates provided on 9 Barcelona manager candidates

A fresh insight into the efforts of the powers that be at Barcelona to source a new manager for next season has been provided in the early hours of Friday.

It is of course common knowledge across world football that Barcelona are on the lookout for a new head coach, with a view to next season.

This comes after Xavi, late last month, announced his intention to step down from his post upon the conclusion of the campaign.

A whole host of tacticians, in turn, have since been tipped to replace the Spaniard.

Media speculation has pointed towards the likes of Jürgen Klopp, Thomas Tuchel and Imanol as potential installments on the Camp Nou touchline.

And, as alluded to above, this morning, an update on the situation has been provided.

The info comes courtesy of Mundo Deportivo, who have revealed the latest on the chances of no fewer than nine tacticians as replacements for Xavi.

First, all of Mikel Arteta, Luis Enrique, Roberto De Zerbi, and Xabi Alonso are said to be ‘liked’ by Joan Laporta and co, in turn being ‘analyzed’ with a view to next season.

Hansi Flick, meanwhile, remains a strong contender, whilst the work of Unai Emery at Aston Villa is highly appreciated.

‘Losing strength’ in the eyes of the Barcelona board, on the other hand, are the trio of Sérgio Conceição, Imanol, and Míchel.
