Why Vitor Roque is growing increasingly concerned with his role at Barcelona

An insight into the growing concern in the camp of Barcelona star Vitor Roque with his situation at the club has been provided this afternoon.

The subject of youngster Roque’s game-time, or rather lack thereof, has of course returned to the forefront of the headlines in Catalunya’s capital once more across the week to date

As much comes after the Brazilian was subjected to another frustrating evening’s work, on Sunday.

En route to an eventual goalless stalemate with Athletic Club, Roque was forced to watch on from the bench for the entirety of the 90 minutes.

This came despite Barcelona having been in desperate need of a source of inspiration, amid a toothless attacking display.

Roque, all told, has now featured for just 164 of an available 720 minutes since his arrival in La Liga during the January transfer window.

And, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, it would appear that such woes are giving rise to increasing frustration within the player’s close circle.

As per a report from Joaquim Piera of Diario Sport, both Roque and his entourage are desperate for an uptick in minutes on the pitch over the final months of the term.

This comes amid the 18-year-old’s efforts to carve out a place for himself in Brazil’s squad for the upcoming Copa América.

After Roque missed out on a spot in new Seleção boss Dorival’s squad for this month’s friendly meetings with Spain and England to none other than Real Madrid-bound Endrick, he will need to quickly set about changing the mind of his fellow countryman.

And as much is unlikely likely to be forthcoming in the case of his current trend of game time continuing at club level.
