An insight into the plans of the powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona to make official the appointment of the club’s new manager has today been provided.
The situation on the bench in Catalunya’s capital has of course positioned itself front and centre in the Spanish media headlines over the course of the last 48 hours.
This comes after Barcelona finally pulled the trigger, confirming the dismissal of head coach Xavi with a view to next season.
German tactician Hansi Flick has since been widely tipped as Xavi’s successor, with an agreement on the terms of a two-year contract between the parties understood to be in place.
Just when, though, do Barca intend to announce as much?
As per a report from German football insider Florian Plettenberg, the plan is for Flick to put pen to paper on terms with the Blaugrana on Monday.
And, all going according to plan, the announcement will be forthcoming the same day, marking the beginning of a new era at the Camp Nou.
