West Ham not close to agreeing personal terms with Villarreal’s Arnaut Danjuma

Premier League club West Ham United have not made any significant progress in agreeing personal terms with Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The London club have been in talks with Villarreal for weeks over a fee of €40 million. However, according to Romano, West Ham are not close to agreeing personal terms and contract details with the Dutch forward.

Danjuma’s camp are apparently in no rush to push through for a move as the winger is happy to continue with the Yellow Submarine if no agreement can be found with the Hammers. West Ham manager David Moyes is reportedly more focused on sealing the signatures of Armando Broja and Jesse Lingard.

Danjuma had a terrific debut campaign in Spain, being Villarreal’s top scorer in all competitions. Operating as either a left winger or in a front two, Danjuma scored 10 in 23 games in the league and 6 in 11 as Villarreal reached the Champions League semis.

Villarreal have reportedly lined up Almeria striker Umar Sadiq as the potential replacement, but may well face competition from Sevilla in that regard.
