Footage of Gavi being greeted by his Barcelona teammates for the first time since the midfielder’s injury diagnosis was confirmed has come to the fore online.
Gavi, of course, has proven the headline talking point of the latest international break.
Unfortunately for the youngster, however, this has come for altogether less than positive reasons.
After being afforded his latest start for Spain against Georgia over the weekend, Gavi lasted just 25 minutes, before leaving the pitch in tears, whilst clutching his knee.
Ensuing medical tests revealed an ACL tear, as well as meniscus damage, in his right knee.
The 19-year-old has therefore been ruled out for the remainder of the season, as well as, potentially, Spain’s Euro 2024 campaign.
The mood back in Barcelona has, in turn, proven a sombre one over the last couple of days, with a host of Blaugrana stars having made use of social media to send messages of support to their stricken teammate.
And, as alluded to above, today, such players were afforded their first chance to meet a clearly downtrodden Gavi in person.
Footage of the interactions can be seen below, with the likes of Marcos Alonso, Lamine Yamal, and João Félix all present:
