Real Madrid’s David Alaba speaks out over potential Bayern Munich return

Real Madrid star David Alaba has spoken out over the possibility of making the move back to Germany, with Bayern Munich.

Stopper Alaba enjoyed a trophy-laden stint in Bayern colours between 2010 and 2021, during which time the Austrian international established himself as one of world football’s finest left-backs.

After allowing his contract in Bavaria to run down, though, Alaba ultimately opted for a new adventure, taking his talents to Spain with the aforementioned Real.

He has since gone on to play a pivotal role for Los Blancos, too, often acting as one of the first names on the team sheet of boss Carlo Ancelotti.

And yet, the club’s supporters have not been shy in aiming frequent criticism in his direction, with many of the opinion that he should no longer be utilised in central defence.

Such qualms have culminated in inevitable speculation surrounding Alaba’s future, amid links with a surprise exit from the Santiago Bernabéu.

If the latest comments on the part of the 29-year-old himself are anything to go by, however, then Alaba will not be going anywhere any time soon.

Speaking to the media whilst on international duty, as cited by Fabrizio Romano, the versatile stopper was drawn on the possibility of bringing a close to his time in La Liga, specifically to make the move back to Germany with Bayern Munich.

Alaba, though, assured that he remains fully content in Madrid, with ‘very clear goals’ in mind moving forward:

“I’m not thinking that far ahead. I feel very comfortable in Madrid. I like Real Madrid and I have very clear goals. My thoughts are not anywhere else.”
