Barcelona starlet Vitor Roque has today sent an unwavering message to the club’s supporters, regarding his long-term prospects in Catalunya’s capital.
Frontman Roque, of course, sealed his long-awaited move to Spain during the January transfer window, after seeing his previously agreed summer arrival fast-tracked by six months.
All told, the Brazilian’s time at Barcelona has since proven a somewhat hit-and-miss affair, as Roque, still just 19, struggles in efforts to force his way onto a frontline featuring the more established talents of Robert Lewandowski, João Félix, and Raphinha.
And yet, in limited minutes, the former Athletico Paranaense talent has nevertheless showcased flashes of his evident goalscoring prowess, en route to back-to-back strikes against Osasuna, and Alavés.
Speaking in an interview with in-house media platform Barca Magazine on Wednesday, the subject of his much talked about place in Barca’s squad was therefore put to Roque himself.
And, in his response, the young attacker went on to make a vow to all of a Blaugrana persuasion:
“I am sure that I will be an important player at Barça,” he stated without hesitation, as cited by Mundo Deportivo. “Game by game, I’m gaining confidence.”
