Vinícius Jr & Antonio Rüdiger injury latest as another Real Madrid blow confirmed before Girona

A fresh insight into the injury situation at La Liga giants Real Madrid has been provided this afternoon.

The info comes by way of Arancha Rodríguez of COPE, who has confirmed that Real are sweating over the wellbeing of a trio of key performers, ahead of this weekend’s top-of-the-table showdown with Girona.

Vinícius Jr. and Antonio Rüdiger, after sitting out the Madrid Derby on Sunday, remain serious doubts to feature next time out, too.

The former is continuing to struggle with a cervical problem in his neck, whilst stopper Rüdiger is yet to recover from a heavy blow to his knee.

With the likes of David Alaba, Thibaut Courtois and Éder Militão still sidelined long-term, safe to say, then, that yet another personnel blow is the last thing which Carlo Ancelotti and co. needed with a view to such a crucial weekend fixture.

On Wednesday, though, this is precisely what has been confirmed.

As per COPE, along with a host of other sources, Real captain Nacho was not present in training alongside the rest of the club’s squad this morning.

This comes with the experienced Spaniard suffering from muscular overload.

His participation against Girona, too, has in turn been thrown up in the air.
