Experts in Turkey hold Real Madrid accountable for Arda Güler’s injury setbacks

Experts in Turkey believe Real Madrid’s intense training sessions are the reason behind Arda Güler’s injuries. As reported by Relevo, several Turkish journalists have voiced their outrage at how Turkish footballers pick up injuries, due to the demands of training in Europe.

It has been far from an ideal start for Güler in his first season at Madrid. The Turkish star has already shown his worth, but has been unable to demonstrate his quality on the pitch due to several injury setbacks.

Injuries have hindered Arda’s breakthrough at Los Blancos and the player has definitely suffered from the intensity in his first few months. Although the Turk is adapting to these demands, he has left some training sessions disconsolate.

The 18-year-old has accumulated just 58 minutes of playing time so far this season, which has also sparked anger in Turkey. Turkish journalist Muhammet Duman believes Arda will play a pivotal role at the European Championship even though his playing time has been limited by injuries this season.

He said: “Arda will be Turkey’s offensive star. There is no doubt about it. Montella has a lot of confidence in him and he will play as one of ten. He will be one of the best players in the tournament.

“Yunus Emre Konak, another Turkish player, signed by Brentford from Sivasspor, also got injured after several weeks of training with the English team. His injury and Güler’s are no coincidence. There is a big difference between training in Turkey and Europe.

“I’m sure it’s because of the training sessions at Madrid. Training in Europe is much more demanding and better than in Turkey. Luckily, I think Arda has already adapted.”
