La Liga outfit Villarreal have this week reached an agreement to add to the club’s midfield ranks at first-team level. This comes amid confirmation that Nathan Saliba is all set to pen terms with the Yellow Submarine over the days ahead.
Saliba, for his part, is a 22-year-old midfielder, who spent last season making a name for himself on the books of Belgian heavyweights Anderlecht.
In his first year in European football, the former Montréal talent racked up 45 appearances across all competitions, chipping in with five goals and two assists along the way.
Also a regular for the Canadian national team, Saliba, in turn, this summer made his way onto the transfer radar of a number of clubs across the continent.
And as alluded to above, just days out from the window slamming shut, one such suitor have beaten out the competition for his services. As per a report from market insider Fabrizio Romano:
‘Villarreal agree deal to sign Canada international midfielder Nathan Saliba, here we go! Deal done for €15m fee from Anderlecht.’
