Valencia currently lead the race to sign former Spanish international José Callejón from Napoli, according to Estadio Deportivo.

Seville clubs Real Betis and Sevilla along with Atlético Madrid are reportedly interested in bringing the 33-year-old to La Liga after seven years in Naples.

The Spaniard’s contract with the Serie A side expires at the end of the current campaign. Manuel García Quilón, Callejón’s agent, has revealed that there has been no contact from Napoli: “We haven’t had any news from Napoli for a while. There has been interest from a couple of clubs in Spain.

Valencia are currently the only team willing to increase their initial contract offer and reach the €3.5m per season wage salary that would be demanded for a two-year contract.
