Valencia agree a loan deal for Nico González with Barcelona

Barcelona and Valencia have struck a deal that will see Nico González play for Los Che next season, as reported by Marca.

According to the agreement, the Spanish midfielder will be loaned out to Gennaro Gattuso’s side, with the club having no option to purchase the player come the end of the season.

Nico González’s contract with Barcelona is valid until June 2024 and Xavi believes that his loan spell in Valencia will allow the Spaniard to get more playing time and thus support his development as a player.

The 20-year-old midfielder came through the Barcelona youth system. Last season he made 27 appearances in La Liga, as well as playing in the club’s Champions League and Europa League campaigns.

Following the arrival of Samu Castillejo on a free transfer and Samuel Lino on loan from Atlético Madrid, Nico González will be Valencia’s third signing of the summer transfer window.
