Two members of the up-and-coming crop of young talent at La Liga giants Barcelona are in line to be afforded their respective senior debuts at competitive level over the new season’s early weeks.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Marc Bernal and Pau Víctor as the pair in question.
Both midfielder Bernal and frontman Víctor have of course taken their places front and centre in the chatter surrounding Barcelona over the course of recent weeks.
This comes owing to their respective exploits during the club’s pre-season tour of the USA.
The former, at just 17, shone from his berth in the middle of the park, living up to his long-standing reputation as a star in the making in Catalunya’s capital.
Víctor, meanwhile, fresh off seeing his loan arrival from Girona made permanent, found the net on three occasions, including a match-winning brace against none other than Real Madrid.
Such endeavours have given rise to calls for the two players to be handed a further chance to impress, by way of a place in new manager Hansi Flick’s matchday setup this coming season.
And, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, such calls do not appear to have fallen on deaf ears…
As per a report from Diario Sport:
‘Bernal and Víctor have serious options to start the official season with minutes. Hansi Flick will bet on them.’
