Barcelona beat Real Madrid to Parri signing

La Liga giants Barcelona have beaten out the competition to secure the signature of a highly-regarded up-and-coming youngster.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Marcos Parriego (better known as Parri) as the player in question.

Parri, for his part, is an 18-year-old midfielder, who has long been piquing attentions owing to his efforts at youth level with Rayo Vallecano.

The Spaniard is said to boast wonderful vision, as well as a wand of a left foot, traits which allow him to rattle off assists at an altogether impressive rate.

Interest in Parri’s signature, in turn, had ramped up over recent weeks.

As per Sport, both Manchester City and Real Madrid, the latter of whom the starlet previously lined out for, had been expressing a keen interest in bringing him in with a view to next season.

In the end, however, it was Barcelona who won the race.

The Blaugrana ‘have announced the signing of Marcos Parriego’, who is expected to link up with the U19s in Catalunya’s capital with immediate effect.
