Emerson Royal would fit in at Real Madrid, according to his agent, Emerson Zulu, who explained in a lengthy interview with Charla Podcast that his time at Tottenham is coming to an end.
“There is a big possibility that Emerson will leave Tottenham… That’s what we want,” explained the agent when speaking about the future of the Brazilian, who has a contract at the London club until 2026.
Tottenham are battling for a place in Europe despite their 6-1 thumping at the hands of Newcastle in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Brazilian (24) would like to return to La Liga after a short stint at Barcelona and a good spell at Real Betis.
And now his agent is claiming that he wants another challenge in Spain. “We think it’s time for him to take a bigger leap and go to a team that fights for titles. I think he fits in at Real Madrid,” Zulu said in words reported by AS.
Although he played in the Champions League games this season and has 22 Premier League appearances to his name, Emerson has hardly featured under Cristian Stellini, whose future is now also up in the air.
The full-back has not played in the last four games and last played for less than five minutes against Southampton on 18 March.
