Tottenham and Valencia in talks over the transfer of Bryan Gil

As broken by Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham and Valencia are set to enter a new round of discussions regarding the transfer of Bryan Gil.

In July it was believed that Real Sociedad were winning the race against Valencia to sign the Spanish forward as the Basque club were reportedly willing to buy him outright.

However, it appears as though Real Sociedad are not prioritising the signing of Gil.

Valencia are still only looking to sign the 21-year-old on a loan deal with a possible option-to-buy clause, whereas Spurs want to include a mandatory purchase option following the expiration of Gil’s loan spell.

Tottenham bought Gil from Sevilla for a fee of €25 million that also saw Erik Lamela move to the Andalucían side. However, he failed to make an impact and scored no goals in 20 games for the London-based outfit. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Valencia.
