Toni Kroos reveals the 3 Real Madrid stars he informed of exit before public announcement

Real Madrid star Toni Kroos has on Friday revealed that he personally sought contact with three of his Blancos teammates, prior to announcing his impending retirement from the game.

Midfielder Kroos, of course, made official the news which all associated with Real Madrid had so long been dreading earlier this week.

As much came in the form of confirmation that he has decided to hang up his boots on the back of Germany’s campaign at the upcoming European Championships.

Despite the best efforts of the brass at the Santiago Bernabéu to tie their engine room maestro down for another 12 months, Kroos has concluded that the time has come to lower the curtain on a legendary career.

The 34-year-old’s statement regarding as much was forthcoming this past Tuesday.

It has today been revealed, though, that prior to the news being made public, Kroos had actually informed three of his teammates of his decision.

Speaking on his personal podcast, Einfach mal Luppen, the former Bayern Munich star admitted that, owing to his close bond with the trio, he felt it only right to make contact with all of Luka Modrić, Federico Valverde, and Lucas Vázquez, to explain his retirement call.
