Sevilla star ends speculation around his future as he signs extension with the club

The star in question is young striker Isaac Romero, who has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks.

The club’s social media have confirmed today that his future is at Sevilla and that he will continue until at least 2028.

Romero only signed his first professional contract at the club in January of this year, having graduated from the club’s youth system through the Sevilla Atlético reserve team where he scored 11 goals in 15 games last season, as Sevilla’s reserves won the league.

The young forward has scored six goals and contributed four assists in 17 appearances at Sevilla this season, before a hamstring injury ruled him out for the remainder of the season.

In recent weeks, speculation over the 24-year-old’s future had begun to ramp up, but today’s announcement quells any rumours of a departure and ensures Romero’s future lies at the Ramón Sanchéz-Pizjuan stadium.

Sevilla’s English social media team took the opportunity to deliver the news in a unique way, posting a picture of Isaac’s face edited over a scene from The Wolf of Wall Street.
