Toni Kroos on Lionel Messi at the World Cup and Zinedine Zidane’s future

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has spoken about Argentina’s World Cup triumph over France and Lionel Messi, who collected the trophy on Sunday.

“He deserves it. In terms of individual performances at a tournament, I’ve never seen a footballer play as consistently as this guy,” Kroos said about Messi on Germany’s Magenta TV.

Didier Deschamps’ future in charge of the French national team is being discussed in France, and Kroos also gave his opinion on the role.

The former Germany international believes Zinedine Zidane should be Deschamps’ successor with France.

“Now, the big question is: What does Didier (Deschamps) want? Let’s say I think there is a 70:30 chance that Zizou will become the new coach. In general, I think Zizou is very keen to return to coaching,” Kroos said in quotes later reported on Mundo Deportivo.
