Thomas Tuchel confirms Bayern Munich star looks set to miss Real Madrid 2nd leg

Bayern Munich head coach Thomas Tuchel has on Saturday confirmed a fresh injury blow in his squad.

Bayern are fresh off a return to action a short time ago, the Bavarians having made the trip to high-flying Stuttgart for a Bundesliga clash.

When all was said and done, it was the evening’s hosts who emerged on the right side of the result, Harry Kane’s latest goal proving little more than a consolation in a 3-1 Bayern defeat.

And yet, as alluded to above, the eventual outcome at the MHPArena proved far from the only source of concern for Thomas Tuchel and co. on Saturday.

As much comes with Bayern Munich having also been dealt a blow on the personnel front.

Inside the opening 20 minutes of action, Raphaël Guerreiro went to ground clutching his ankle, in evident discomfort.

After being tended to by the visitors’ medical team, it quickly became evident that Guerreiro was in no condition to continue, hooked from proceedings for Leon Goretzka as a result.

Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle in Stuttgart, the subject of the versatile Portuguese’s wellbeing, in turn, was put to boss Tuchel.

And, in his response, the German went on to confirm that Guerreiro, as things stand, looks highly likely to miss out when Bayern make the trip to Spain on Wednesday, for the 2nd leg of the club’s Champions League semi-final showdown with Real Madrid:

“He’s not feeling well at all,” Tuchel began. “He’s currently walking on crutches. He’s probably out for Real. Bitter.”
