Thibaut Courtois discusses PSG win and El Clásico defeat ahead of Celta clash

In the latest episode of his podcast ‘Thibaut Talks‘, Real Madrid no. 1 Thibaut Courtois has spoken candidly about his side’s recent results.

Speaking about Real Madrid’s incredible comeback win in the UEFA Champions League against PSG, Courtois was left in awe of the atmosphere at the Santiago Bernabéu. Courtois said that the stadium atmosphere pushed the team on after their first goal, towards pulling off the unthinkable.

“That emotion always stays with you, you will remember these games. They were very special moments,” said the Belgian on his podcast.

From the highest of highs, however, Courtois also talks about the most recent El Clásico, where they suffered a 4-0 humiliation against Barcelona. Courtois apologised for the poor performance, thanking the fans for the support until the end of the game.

“The only thing the players can do is thank the fans for having supported them until the end, although the result was what it was, and I want to apologize for the game. In the end, it’s a game and there are three points, like the three we’ll play for against Celta [Vigo].”

The Belgian is now fully focused on the next league game against Celta Vigo. Despite having a nine-point lead at the top, he repeated former boss Zinedine Zidane’s mantra that “every game is a final”. Courtois expressed the intention to fully recover their confidence after the loss by the time Real Madrid play the Champions League quarter-finals.
