‘The kings’ – Man City boss Pep Guardiola responds to Real Madrid Champions League draw

Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola has this afternoon spoken out regarding the challenge awaiting his side in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

This, of course, comes after the Sky Blues were afforded a daunting task, in getting the better of none other than competition specialists, Real Madrid.

City and Real went head-to-head on the continent just last season, when the former followed up a 1-1 stalemate in Spain with a rampant 4-0 Etihad triumph to book their spot in the tournament showpiece.

This marked the third time in the space of four years on which the two clubs have been drawn against one another at some point in the knockout rounds of the Champions League.

And, this time round, they will make it four in five.

Speaking to the media a short time ago, the aforementioned Pep Guardiola was in turn drawn on what is in store for his side, against what is fast becoming a familiar foe.

And the former Barcelona headmaster, despite the tough draw afforded to his side, appeared in good spirits in responding:

“It looks like little bit of a tradition, three years in a row playing the kings of the competition!”

“Hopefully we arrive in a good moment. Second leg at home, it is what it is…”
