The conditions under which Barcelona could sell Man United target Mika Faye

La Liga giants Barcelona are not entirely opposed to the prospect of parting with defensive starlet Mikayil Faye this summer.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have this weekend provided a fresh insight into the future of the Senegalese.

Faye, for his part, has seen his name take its place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the course of recent weeks.

As much comes with the 19-year-old’s stellar exploits with Rafa Márquez’s Barca Atlètic having culminated in a call-up to first-team duties.

After first taking his place on the bench for the Blaugrana’s La Liga meeting with Mallorca earlier this month, Faye was amongst the group once more on Saturday, against Las Palmas.

A stunning long-range goal on his international debut with Senegal last weekend, meanwhile, has only seen the stopper’s star continue to ascend.

And yet, as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, Faye could nevertheless be on the move this summer.

As per Sport, amid an ‘overbooking’ at the heart of defence at Barcelona, an offer deemed as financially acceptable would be taken into serious consideration behind the scenes at the Camp Nou.

This comes amid interest in the stopper on the part of La Liga rivals Girona, Premier League giants Manchester United, and a number of clubs in France.

Faye being given the green light to seek out first-team football elsewhere, however, would only come in the case of Barca maintaining control of his long-term future.

‘They are clear that he is an important asset and, if he must leave, the club will maintain control of him with a sale with buyback or a paid loan’, it is assured.

A similar operation was carried out with Chadi Riad, who, in the midst of a fine season with Real Betis, is looking increasingly likely to be brought back to Catalunya this summer.
