The 4 positions Barcelona want to strengthen this summer

An insight into the plans of the powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona for the summer transfer window has today been forthcoming online.

The info comes courtesy of Relevo, and surrounds the areas of need in Xavi’s Blaugrana squad.

The priority position of reinforcement remains the deep-lying pivot role, with Guido Rodríguez and Joshua Kimmich the leading targets as things stand.

Moving further forward, a left-winger is also on the agenda, RB Leipzig standout Dani Olmo remaining firmly in the sights of Deco and his team.

With plans having now been put in place to farm Vitor Roque out on loan, a new centre-forward will be sought out, too, albeit with João Félix’s future in Catalunya potentially set to interfere in as much.

And last up, a new full-back will be brought in, most likely on the left.

Marcos Alonso is of course in line to move on upon the expiration of his contract, Alejandro Balde remains sidelined long-term, and João Cancelo’s continuity in Barcelona’s colours is no longer as certain as it once seemed.

Such additions will be dependent on developments on the financial front over the weeks and months ahead, but, as things stand, this is the plan of action behind the scenes at the Camp Nou.
