Talks between Villarreal and Tottenham over Giovani Lo Celso transfer set to continue next week

Villarreal and Tottenham are yet to reach an agreement over the transfer of Giovani Lo Celso, as broken by Fabrizio Romano.

It was communicated earlier this week that Villarreal have submitted an offer to sign the Argentine midfielder. According to reports, The Yellow Submarine would like to secure a second loan deal, with a compulsory purchase option at the end of this coming season valued around €15 million.

However, it appears that Tottenham are not willing to accept the offer just yet and would like to continue discussions this coming week in order to arrive at an agreement.

Nonetheless, talks have been constructive and both parties would like the deal to go ahead as Antonio Conte is not counting on the 26-year-old at Spurs.

Lo Celso played a key role in helping Villarreal reach the Champions League semi-finals last season and Unai Emery has made him his top transfer target this summer.
