Talks between Real Betis and Real Madrid regarding Dani Ceballos transfer stall

As communicated by Estadio Deportivo, Real Betis are not meeting Real Madrid’s asking price for Dani Ceballos.

Earlier this week, Carlo Ancelotti signalled that he is counting on Ceballos this season if he ends up staying at Real Madrid.

However, it is very unlikely that the 26-year-old will be starting regularly at Los Blancos as there is too much competition in midfield.

Ceballos’ contract with Real Madrid is valid until June 2024 and the Spanish champions have set his price at €10 million.

Even though Ceballos would be interested in the prospect of returning to his boyhood club where he would be guaranteed more playing time, Real Betis are unable to meet Real Madrid’s asking price.

Born in Utrera in the province of Sevilla, Ceballos came through Los Verdiblancos’ youth academy. He played over 100 games for the senior side before moving to Real Madrid for a fee €18 million.
