A somewhat surprising member of the Barcelona frontline covered more distance than any other member of the club’s squad in their meeting with Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night.
Barca, of course, are fresh off a return to winning ways on the continent.
After making the trip to France for the first leg of the club’s Champions League quarter-final showdown with the aforementioned PSG, Xavi’s troops ultimately emerged on the right side of a 3-2 result.
Post-match, it was Man of the Match Raphinha who took the majority of the plaudits, owing to a brace amid a fine individual display.
Another whose impressive exploits at the Parc des Princes went a little under the radar, though, comes in the form of Robert Lewandowski.
Frontman Lewandowski, for his part, did not manage to get himself on the scoresheet on Wednesday.
The Pole’s all-round game, though, was of the highest standard, with ‘Lewa’ having held the ball up to bring his teammates into the game time and time again.
Not only that, but, as has since come to light, the former Bayern Munich man put in more graft than any other member of Xavi’s squad.
All told, Lewandowski covered 10.66km of distance across the 90 minutes in Paris, a testament to both the 35-year-old’s fitness, and commitment to the Barcelona cause.
