SQUAD | Latest Spain U21 squad announced

As reported by Relevo, Spanish-born Ilias Akhomach has sent a letter to the Spanish Federation informing them of his decision to represent the Morocco national team instead of Spain.

Today, Spain U21 boss Santi Denia has announced the list of called-up players for the upcoming European Championship qualifiers against Hungary and Belgium. In the squad there were returns for Alberto Moleiro and Pablo Barrios, however, the notable absentee was Akhomach.

The 19-year-old has been a regular but has chosen to play for Morocco. The Villarreal player – who was born in Hostalets de Pierola – has been a key part of the Spanish setup at U17 and U19 level.
