Speaking at a press conference on deadline day, Sevilla sporting director Monchi spoke about defender Jules Koundé.
“He [Jules Koundé] will leave the club if someone pays the release clause. Chelsea made a bid last week but we didn’t like it. If there isn’t an offer that we feel we can reinvest well, then it won’t be accepted. Koundé knows that and he’s a fantastic professional. We had a deadline on August 20 but we received the bid on August 25… and we turned it down.”
Koundé’s release clause is approximately €75 million/€80million.
