João Félix wants FC Barcelona move but Saudi Arabia remains an option

João Félix wants to join FC Barcelona, reports Matteo Moretto of Relevo. He has made it clear and his agent Jorge Mendes will try until the end of the summer transfer window to get him out of Atlético Madrid, where he is not part of Diego Simeone’s plans.

He wants to join a Champions League team and Saudi Arabia is not a priority, however, the former Benfica player is not ruling anything out just yet. The Portuguese forward would be open to moving to Saudi Arabia on loan for a season, the same reports adds.

Jorge Mendes is working on the Arabia route because he wants to have a plan B ready, but the plan for João Félix is to end up at Barça.

He was the only one of the 26 players in the Atlético squad who travelled over 30,000 kilometres for their summer tour but didn’t play. He was absent for the friendlies against the K-League all-star team, a 3-2 defeat for Atlético. He also missed the game against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, which ended in a 2-1 win for Simeone’s side. Atlético played out a 0-0 draw with Real Sociedad and finished with a 1-1 draw against Sevilla.

Atlético’s La Liga opener is at home to newly-promoted Granada on August 14, although he is not expected to feature at the Metropolitano. There is less than a month left until the end of the transfer window and he is still looking for a new club for next season.
