Bernardo Silva to give Barcelona more time

Bernardo Silva finds himself once more distanced from a move to Barcelona. The Portuguese player has a renewal proposal from Manchester City on the table, and he is close to accepting an extension.

However, as per information acquired by MD, the player intends to provide Barça with a bit more time before finalising a deal with his current club. Sources close to Silva indicate he will wait for “one or two additional days”, anticipating significant action from the Catalan club.

From Silva’s circle, there is astonishment at Barcelona’s handling of this situation. They conveyed their interest through his agent and communicated that he was the primary target this summer. Xavi is a big admirer and has approval from the club.

Nevertheless, these words have not translated into definitive action up until now. There has been no contact from Barça to City.

Prior to the Community Shield match against Arsenal, Pep Guardiola left the possibility open. He stated, “If someone is interested, they can come here, have a discussion with our sporting director and CEO. However, as of now, we haven’t received a suitable offer,” emphasising that no concrete proposal has been received.
