Uruguayan central defender Ronald Araújo has signed a contract renewal with FC Barcelona, the club has announced.
Barcelona have confirmed that Araújo has agreed to a new four-year contract up to 30 June 2026, with a release clause of €1billion attached to it. It shows Barcelona’s intent to secure their best talents for the long-term, as the Uruguayan joins Ansu Fati and Pedri on the €1billion release clause list.
Araújo will officially sign his contract at Camp Nou field on Friday 29 April, which will be followed by speeches from the player and club president Joan Laporta. Although the event will be closed to the public, it will be broadcasted worldwide on Barça TV and Barça TV+ from 1:30 pm CEST (local time).
Araújo has been a strong performer for Barcelona over the last two seasons, and the renewal of the young defender will be welcomed by fans of the club.
