Rodrygo renews contract with Real Madrid until 2028

As reported by Marca, Brazil international Rodrygo has signed a new contract with Real Madrid until the summer of 2028. In the new contract, the 22-year-old’s salary has increased and the release clause has risen to €1B.

During his time at Real, he has made 179 appearances, scoring 39 goals and winning eight trophies in the process. In his five seasons in the first team, he won two La Liga titles, the Copa del Rey, the Uefa Champions League, the European Super Cup and the Club World Cup.

The Brazilian joined Madrid aged 18 from Brazilian side Santos for €45m in 2018 and was added to their squad in 2019 when he was old enough to complete the move to the Spanish capital. Rodrygo also has 18 caps for Brazil, making five appearances at the recent World Cup in Qatar.

Team-mate Vinícius also extended his contract with the club earlier this week.
