Real Madrid hoping to sell left-back Ferland Mendy in January

According to Relevo, Real Madrid are aiming to offload full-back Ferland Mendy in the upcoming January transfer window. The club is actively looking for appealing offers to convince the defender, who is currently happy at the club and doesn’t want to move.

Although, the 28-year-old’s current deal binds him to Los Blancos until 2025, the club do not have him in their plans for next season. Madrid have identified Bayern Munich full-back Alphonso Davies as a priority target for next season and have already strengthened the left-back position this summer with the acquisition of Fran García.

So far Mendy has only been approached by clubs in Saudi Arabia, however, the Frenchman is against the idea of leaving European football at this moment in his career.

Despite missing 29 games since July 2022 due to various injuries, manager Carlo Ancelotti has shown great faith in the player. Mendy has started on four occasions in the league, playing over 300 minutes, however, the defender left the recent Clásico with yet another injury.
