Rodrygo: “Ancelotti is a phenomenon, he always wins”

In an interview that appeared on Mundo Deportivo, Rodrygo talked about his relationship with Carlo Ancelotti.

Real Madrid are set to face Eintracht Frankfurt in the Super Cup final next week in Helsinki’s Olympic Stadium.

The Real Madrid forward discussed his thoughts regarding the fixture and the competition:

“I’ve never played in it and I think it’s great, I want to play in it every year. For that you have to win the Champions League every year and that’s what I want. In every final we play we forget the name of the competition and we only think about winning. Whether it’s the Super Cup, the Champions League or whatever, we always go out to win. That’s the mentality of our team.”

He also looked back on how he has developed as a player over the past season:

“I have grown in all aspects. I train every day to be better as a person and as a player. Now I am more mature, I interact with people who are older than me. They teach me a lot as a player and I also learn from the best in the world. Every day I am learning and improving.”

The Brazilian international believes that Ancelotti has had a big impact on his progress and the success of the team:

“Ancelotti always wins, he is a phenomenon. He is successful wherever he goes and here it has been no different. He has done a spectacular job with us since the first day he arrived. I always remember the advice he gave us during pre-season. Later on in the season the team kept growing and improving. We had a couple of bad moments but in the end it all worked out.”
