Rodri: “We should have taken fewer risks the other day.”

In an interview that appeared on Marca, Rodri discussed Spain’s round of 16 game against Morocco.

The Manchester City player believes that Morocco will not be an easy opponent:

“It’s not going to be a walkover, it’s the fixture we got for finishing second. Morocco have proven to be the best in their group so they are one of the worst opponents we could have been drawn against. Our objective is to enjoy the World Cup and we have the ambition to win the tournament. We have a chance in the last 16 to show that we are a great team.”

“I was saying that we have put ourselves as World Champions. We’re going to focus on Morocco and we’ll see where we get to,” he added.

Rodri also discussed Spain’s loss against Japan:

“We should have taken fewer risks the other day. We’ve been warned, the coach has been clear and the players have taken responsibility. We’re going to face a very difficult opponent.”
