Robert Lewandowski’s status for Barcelona vs Las Palmas after late fitness test

An update on the wellbeing of Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski has come to the fore in the early hours of Saturday.

Xavi’s Barca squad, of course, are currently in the process of going through their final preparations for a return to action.

With the club’s star performers now back in Catalunya following a week away with their respective countries for the international break, the Blaugrana will turn attentions towards a La Liga meeting with Las Palmas.

Ahead of the clash, the aforementioned Lewandowski had been considered something of an injury doubt.

This came owing to a thigh problem picked up whilst lining out in Poland’s Euro 2024 playoff finale showdown with Wales.

The 35-year-old, in turn, was put through a series of tests over the course of Friday, in a bid to assess his readiness to contribute against Las Palmas.

And, as per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘Despite the wear and tear suffered in the two play-off games with Poland, the tests carried out on the forward indicate that he is fully fit’.

Lewandowski, as a result, is expected to feature from the off on Saturday night.
