Real Madrid Fábrica ‘jewel’ eyeing summer exit

A highly-regarded up-and-coming member of the youth ranks at Spanish giants Real Madrid has set his sights on a move away from the club, according to reports.

The player in question? Paulo Iago.

Iago, for his part, is a 16-year-old midfielder, currently plying his trade with Real Madrid’s Juvenil A outfit.

The Spanish starlet has long been considered one of the standout talents in Los Blancos’ academy, tipped for a bright future with the club’s first-team down the line.

In turn, it will no doubt come as a source of concern for all associated with Real to hear that Iago is growing increasingly unhappy with his role in Spain’s capital.

As per a report from Relevo:

‘The playmaker has already communicated to his closest people his intention to bet on a project in which they believe in him for the next season.’

This comes amid what Iago deems as a ‘lack of confidence’ in his talents on the part of the coaching staff at Valdebebas.

The youngster feels as though promises have been broken when it comes to his role with the Juvenil A squad, as manager Álvaro Arbeloa continues to overlook him when faced with high-profile fixtures.

Ahead of the expiration of his contract in the summer of 2025, Iago is therefore ready to test the market, amid alleged interest in his services from clubs in all of Spain, England, France, and Germany.
