Revealed: The 6 players Barcelona are scouting at the AFCON

An insight into ongoings behind the scenes at La Liga giants Barcelona has been provided late this evening.

This comes amid confirmation that the Blaugrana brass are hard at work in an effort to identify fresh talent to add to their ranks.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, Joan Laporta and co. have sent a team of scouts to the Africa Cup of Nations.

No fewer than six players are being monitored by the Catalans at the tournament, to assess their potential as future transfer targets.

The players in question come in the form of Yankuba Minteh (Newcastle United), Pape Matar Sarr (Tottenham Hotspur), Dango Ouattara (Bournemouth), Ousmane Diomande (Sporting CP), Raphael Onyedika (Club Brugge), and Ernest Nuamah (Olympique Lyonnais).

One common theme across the board here, is that all of these six are aged 23 years or younger.

In turn, it could signal something of a shift in transfer strategy at Barcelona, amid the club’s long-standing financial woes.
