Real Madrid’s remaining fixtures in 2022-23

After crashing out of the Champions League in devastating fashion at the hands of Manchester City, Real Madrid face the uncommon reality of having to finish the season without a trophy to play for. They have already won the Copa del Rey, but at this stage last season, they had wrapped up the La Liga title, and had their sights firmly set on a Champions League final showdown against Liverpool.

This season, they have lost out in La Liga to Barcelona, and face the prospect of finishing below fierce city rivals, Atlético Madrid. Atlético are currently on 72 points in second spot, one place and one point ahead of Real.

After their 1-0 defeat to Valencia at Mestalla on Sunday, Real Madrid face Rayo Vallecano at the Bernabéu tonight and then travel to take on Europa League finalists Sevilla. They then end the season with a home clash against Athletic Club.

Madrid still have the chance to secure second place in the league, in what has ultimately been a disappointing campaign.
