Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. buys a football club in Portugal

With the incredible amounts of wealth earned by footballers in this day and age, there are a wide array of possibilities for players to spend their money on.

One of those possibilities is to buy a football club of their own. Plenty of players like David Beckham and Gerard Pique have bought football clubs after they retired.

It is far rarer to see a current player purchase a football club, but that is just what Vinícius Jr. has done, as per ElDesmarque.

The club in question is second-division Portuguese side Alverca, which is based on the outskirts of Lisbon. The club currently plays in the second tier but has played in the top tier for five seasons throughout its history.

Vini Jr.’s stake consists of around 70%-80% and is considered a long-term investment and project to see the club succeed both on and off the pitch as well as grow in value.

Perhaps in the future, we could even see Vini play in Portugal before he hangs up his boots.
