A headline member of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid was today forced to train separately from the rest of the club’s squad.
That’s according to Diario AS, who point towards Andriy Lunin as the player in question.
Shot-stopper Lunin, for his part, was absent from training at Valdebebas on each of the last two days.
As much, as confirmed by head coach Carlo Ancelotti, came owing to a bout of illness, specifically a high fever.
Mere days out from Real’s Champions League final showdown with Borussia Dortmund, the hope, in turn, was that the Ukrainian would return to group activities on Wednesday.
As alluded to above, however, this has not proven to be the case.
Lunin did manage a return to the grass earlier today, for the first time this week.
However, the 26-year-old was put through an individualised training session, away from the rest of boss Ancelotti’s star-studded squad.
As per the aforementioned AS, as much came as a precautionary measure, to minimise the risk of illness being passed on to his teammates.
