Real Madrid star Luka Modrić bags latest individual award

Real Madrid veteran Luka Modrić has on Sunday secured for himself yet another prestigious individual prize.

This comes amid confirmation that Modrić has been voted the Croatian Footballer of the Year.

Modrić is for his part in the midst of something of a hit-and-miss campaign, which has seen him largely fall out of the first-choice XI of head coach Carlo Ancelotti.

When afforded the chance to impress, particularly over recent months, though, the former Tottenham Hotspur man has taken full advantage.

All told, across 45 appearances in all competitions, Modrić has racked up two goals, along with an impressive eight assists.

And such endeavours, as alluded to above, have today been recognised by the football authorities in his home country.

As confirmed on Sunday evening, Modrić, at 38 years of age, has scooped the award for Croatian Player of the Year 2023/24.

This, incredibly, marks the 12th occasion on which he has taken home the prize, as well as the eighth in succession.
